Looking to stay in New Zealand for a short time? Chances are you need a Temporary Visa.
TEMPORARY VISAS
Visitor Visas: Tourist Visitors & special categories (example: Partnership)
Work Visas: Accredited Employer Work Visa, Partnership Based Visa, Working Holiday Visa, Work to Residence Visa & others
Student Visas: for study in New Zealand
If you would like to do any of the above on a short-medium term basis, use the contact page for personalised assistance.
A temporary visa may be a stepping stone towards New Zealand residency.
LIMITED VISAS
This visa type is for visitors who wish to come to New Zealand for an ‘express purpose’ only.
Examples being to attend an event, short study course, family emergency or seeking medical treatment.
You are able to choose this visa type as your preferred method of entry or perhaps you are unlikely to be accepted for another type of visa due to the risk that you may wish to remain in New Zealand.
Once you have achieved your ‘express purpose’ you are required to leave New Zealand and cannot apply for another type of visa whilst you are onshore in New Zealand.
Talk to a Licensed Immigration Adviser about the restrictions on your immigration rights.
INTERIM VISAS
An interim visa cannot be applied for and there is no application fee.
If you are onshore in New Zealand, hold a valid temporary visa, and have had a further temporary visa application accepted for processing by Immigration New Zealand, you will likely automatically be assessed by Immigration New Zealand for an interim visa shortly before the expiry of your current visa to ensure that you remain onshore lawfully.
Please note that if you find yourself in a situation where you realise you may require an interim visa then it would be prudent to get the assistance of a Licensed Immigration Adviser to ensure that your further temporary visa application is fully complete and is likely to be accepted for processing by INZ.
2021 Interim Visa is available to maintain lawfulness for those with submitted/pending 2021 Resident Visa application but please talk to a Licensed Immigration Adviser regarding the implications of holding any interim visa.
